A FABULOUS INDONESIAN PHINISI-13.3m THB
The beautiful KLM Baidee is a traditional two-masted Indonesian sailing ship constructed of ironwood and teak, that offers a comfortable cruising experience to all guests. It makes exploring Thai waters a luxurious experience full of nature’s wonders that can be seen from the yacht’s decks.
Bugis pinisi were recently discovered as a unique type of live-aboard that could be used for divers and travelers to go to remote locations in the Indonesian islands. Modernized versions of this sturdy traditional boat now come with complete cabins, kitchens and fully-equipped toilets to accommodate travelers from around the world as they discover South-East Asia’s serene marine landscapes and take in the beauty of nature.
Re-fitted in 2014, KLM Baidee has been commercially operated very successfully in Ko Samui especially in the day tour market, with a capacity of 50 pax, but is capable of overnight charters or live aboard too, for 8 guests in 4 double cabins.
The KLM Baidee has its name from the Thai words “Baai Dee”, which quite literally means “good sails” or “smooth sailing”. It is an expression used by local mariners to wish each other a safe journey at sea.
